Sensory Garden Mural

This was a really "hit-close-to-home" project for me. As an individual who suffers from sensory issues, I understood the message the clients wanted to express in this mural. This Mural was specially designed for the special education students attending Hamilton Highschool. The teachers and students of the class wanted to add a mural to the sensory garden to give more of a tranquil feel to make the students feel more at peace when studying in the garden. I and my team came up with the concept of making an interactive mural that displayed all 5 senses.
To achieve this idea, we brainstormed how we could showcase all 5 senses in creative ways. I designed a Skunk surrounded by flowers for the sense of smell. My team contributed with Ceramic Bees for touch, Bright vibrant colors for Sight, and Dripping honey for taste. We also decided to put up windchimes for hearing as well. There is even a neon puzzle piece to represent our Autism students.
Overall was a beautiful piece that I was excited to be a part of. It is a true honor to help fellow students have a place where they can be themselves and enjoy existing. This mural project has been my favorite so fair.
